RESUME:
Zhiyong Fanreceived his B. S. and M. S. at the Materials Science, Fudan University in 1999 and 2001, respectively. He received his Ph. D. at the interdisciplinary Materials Science, UC-Irvine in Dec, 2006, and is currently in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory Feb, UC Berkeley Materials Science Division.
His research interests include bottom-up synthesis and assembly of functional nanostructured materials; characterization of physical and chemical properties of novel nanomaterials; applications of functional nanomaterials for electronics, optoelectronics, energy harvesting, chemical/biology sensing, etc.
He has thirty-five publications on Nature Mater., Advanced Materials, Nano Lett., Journal of Americal Chemical Society, P. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA.(PNAS), National Academy of Engineering, Angew., Chem. Int. Ed., Appl. Phys. Lett., etc.
He has received many awards include 2005 IEEE Sensors Research Graduate Scholarship Award; 2005 Chinese-American Engineering and Scientists Association of Southern California Scholarship Award.; UC-Irvine Fariboz Maseeh Best Poster Award for 2004; Microscopy Society of America Student Poster Award for 2004., etc.
